DIY Dip Dyed Envelopes with Food Colouring

 Hello!
Lately, I've been obsessed with party decor. My friend's little girl is turning 1 (insert awww here) and I'm helping plan the aesthetics. The idea of party favours was considered and I thought this would be a great option. So naturally I thought I'd share it with you.

This was all done with food dye. Yay for thriftiness!
I'm constantly trying to find new ways to craft on a budget. Firstly because it's always good to be on top of the latest deals and secondly because it's always nice to have a few extra pounds in the pocket! This was extremely easy to do. Initially I was worried about how it would dry but it turned out perfectly. A little side note: make sure the material you're using can withstand being dipped in liquids.

What you'll need
Food Dye
Washi tape (optional)
Envelopes
Bowl
Water

What to do
1. Pour dye into bowl.
2. Dip envelope, remove envelope, water down dye and put envelope back in.
You're done!

This is a quick and easy way to add a personal touch to any form of paper stationery!
Go on, give it a try!

  2. What a fabulous idea I have a stash of brown envelopes and plenty of food dye too. Something I can also get my niece Ito join in next time she visits - she loves crafting :)

  3. Great idea, I loved doing dip dyes when I was in textiles at school. I'll have to try this out next time I'm sending something special
