Current Desires

I love a good shopping trip but this year (all 29 days of it) I just haven't been in the mood to fight off other shoppers or walk around looking for little treats. However, I have been searching from the comfort of my bed. I'm a massive home body, give me pj's, a good movie, some snacks and I'm a happy bunny.

Here are a couple of items that are on the 'buy after payday, when I'm not so poor' list. I think the diary may be purchased soon though. I've been struggling to find the perfect one, however, I've been struggling more with this lack of organisation (I can be a little forgetful at times).
Let me know if you have anything on the list or if theres anything you think I should try.

Oh and heres some audio goodness.

Valentine's Day Cards

So heres a little secret.
Up until the age of 21, I had never had a serious boyfriend.
But your amazing Lisa I hear you say. I know, I am! But I had just never met the right guy and I wasn't  eager to have one just for the sake of it.

And so, Valentine's was a bit of a mixed bag. I would use it as a treat day or hang out with the girls. For me, Valentines was and is about showing love to the ones around you (and yourself) be it with a card, chocolates or a text to let them know your thinking of them.

This year I've been able to design Valentines day cards, YAY!
It still feels strange that my designs and drawings are on cards but they are and they look amazing.
They are available to buy on our website.

Show some love to someone this year.

The Liebster Award

I have been recently nominated for the Liebster award and I'm so flattered.
It's given to bloggers from other bloggers to show a little blog love. As part of it I have to answer some questions and nominate others for the award. So I'll kick off by thanking Libby Everall for nominating me. I'm feeling the love!

Here are my questions:
1) What do you do if you run out of creative inspiration (for anything?)
That's a tough question. If I feel stuck creatively, usually I'll just take a break. Fresh
eyes always give you a new perspective.

2) Morning or evening?
 EVENING, I'm a night owl.

3) If you were a mythical creature, what would you be?
Unicorn, baby! Either that or a pixie.

4) What's your favourite word? (Stealing the question, but I really wanna know.)
Rumpelstiltskin, I just like the way it sounds. Or did you mean frequently used word?
If that's the case, then it's "wow".

5) What helps you concentrate?
It depends on what I'm doing. If I'm drawing I need a clean environment and low music. If I'm working I need silence. Procrastination and I have a long history, the break up has been messy.

6) What 3 things are you determined to achieve (generally)?
3 things, ok. I would like to settle into a job where I'm doing what I love (aka growing my card business atm). Master conversational sign language (I started whilst at uni, then stopped). Own my own home soon.

7) What's your guilty pleasure?
Oh wow, I have more of these than I probably should divulge. Well, I love ABBA. I also have a weakness for horrible reality tv; Made in Chelsea, Jersey Shore. Don't judge me.

8) Would you rather live without a roof or without a "proper" floor?
Without a proper floor. You always need a roof over your head.

9) Why did you start your blog?
I did Media at GCSE level and we had to start a blog to review films. I liked it and after I finished, the blog just sat there. It wasn't until a couple of years later that I decided to rename it and have fun.

10) Have you ever eaten a whole cake?
Yes, many a cake has seen a monstrous death at my hand. To be fair, they were only small ones (and they had it coming).

11) How much trouble would you be in if you had no hands?
A lot! I love to draw and do other little crafty things, so no hands would be horrible.

Here is a list of people I would like to nominate

These are the questions for you to answer:
1.Why did you start your blog?
2. What 3 things are you determined to achieve?
3. What's your strangest talent?
4.What's your current desktop photo?
5. Grab the nearest book to you and turn to page 53. What does it say?
6. What inspires you?
7. What is your strangest phobia?

Feel free to answer the questions, I'm additionally nominating
anyone who reads this. I love finding out random facts about people.

Quotes I won't forget

"figure out what you love and don't suck at it, then try to figure out how to make a living doing that"

"fortune favours the bold who get shit done"

This book is inspiring, it truly is. It is written by Sophia Amoruso founder and CEO of clothing company Nasty gal.

Initially I started reading it thinking it would give me a well needed peek into the world of business and how to make yours grow. Don’t get me wrong, it does that (a little) but it makes you work for it. Your not spoon fed a step by step on the ever allusive road to business success. Your sat down and mentored in the ways of knowing your strengths and flaunting them as well as knowing your weaknesses, facing up to them and overcoming them.

Her story is pretty amazing in itself but the wisdom she’s gained through it is what
 has made her a #GIRLBOSS!

Not sure what the next book will be, if anyone has any suggestions feel free to comment. If you want to read it too (which I highly recommend for anyone trying to take control of their future and fill it with awesome) then you can get it here.

Word to the wise.

This is a little late.
6 days into the new year and I've broken a new year resolution already.
I promised to blog more and this should have been posted on 1st Jan.

But theres hope for this old girl yet.
(I say "old", I turned 24 years old 2 weeks ago and I've been struggling to fight the
strong cravings for tea)

I've always thought that self reflection is essential but there's something about the start of a new year that gives you the will power to ignore that full tube of ice cream in the freezer calling your name and pick up that exercise mat. Even if it is just for the first month… week. Seriously though, I'm viewing this year as a fresh start. There are two ideals that I'm pushing forward with this year.

1. Bit by bit
I think my constant down fall has been setting massive goals. All or nothing. Initially the enthusiasms high but then I get so daunted by the task ahead that I put it off, talk around it and ultimately forget it. However I've learnt to take things bit by bit.  Small steps may not bring about drastic change but they get you moving. Plus, I've never been much of a runner.

2. Do what you love
This is my most valued. It took me a long time to learn (and I'm still learning) that the best way to do something long term that your happy with is passion. Do what you love, and unapologetically so.
Co-founding a company, doing what I love, has been one of the highlights of last year. I always wanted to do it but let other things get in the way. Don't regret.

Have you given yourself any resolutions this year?
What are they?
