DIY Cotton Ball Dispenser

Please don't hate me! It's been a while. I've been a busy bunny (pun fully intended). Please accept my sincerest apology and a bit fat hug! I've missed you guys. I'm back now and I've got lots to share. Hope your summer's been amazing, mine was great. Went to Amsterdam, Spain, Turkey and Greece, twas amazing.

Yesterday was Halloween and you know what that means; CHRISTMAS!!! Time to whip out the tinsel, dodgy jumpers and gift wrap. With that in mind, I thought I'd share a quick DIY suitable for a Christmas gift or (my favourite kind) a gift for yourself. If you know me, you know I'm a fan of simple DIY's that look like they took ages. Well this is one of them. Storing your cotton balls has never looked so cute. All you need to do is find a toy/piggy bank; anything you can cut. Remove the tail, stuff and you're done.

Let me know if you like?
Also, what DIY's would you like to see?

POP Bakery

Hi All!
Hope you're all good! Everyday I pass POP bakery on the way home from work and promise myself that one day I will go inside and see what it's all about because from the outside it looks pretty damn awesome! Today I did it and I was so glad I did. I know I'm a bit late to the party but why did no one tell me how amazing cake pops are! That was mean guys! They say first impressions count and I'm in love. POP bakery create cake pops that will make you smile. They even do workshops so you can paint your own cake pops! The designs they have are amazing and so fun.

As you know, today is Friday and thus treat yo self day! Woop woop!

I think it's safe to say I'm in a good mood. It seems I'm late to the game with a lot of things because I'm on season 5 of The Walking Dead and oh my word!!!! It's amazing! On that note, admire my scrumptious cake pop and be jealous. hehe

Have a fun weekend!

DIY Dinosaur Trophy Head

Hi all! Hope the week's treating you well. What am I talking about it's nearly the weekend. That means something good is coming your way and it's well deserved! I've set myself the challenge of crafting more often rather than on an 'as and when needed' basis. Thinking about it, this should be my motto in life!

So I'm a 90's kid, which means Jurassic park was, by default, one of my favourite films. This is still true today. Anyone who tells me that they have not watched it, is often met with a strong look of dissatisfaction and shock. Watch it, it's great! With this in mind, this week I was feeling a little reminiscent and decided I needed some dino love and appreciation in my room.

This was the result! To say I'm pleased with the final product is an understatement, I love it!
It can be used as a jewellery holder or a declaration of your love for all things dino, I'll leave that decision up to you. The colour can be adjusted to match your room but gold should be a staple. Who doesn't like a bit of gold in their life? I spent £1 for the dinosaur, £1 for the cork coaster and £6 on the spray can (which I already owned), so in total it was a great deal! Now the toy dinosaurs I used were not big, so this won't be a massive piece but its perfect to hang in front the door to throw your keys on when your dashing in and out.

DIY Mango Slushies

So never in my whole entire life did I think this day would come; the day when those cursed 3 words  would leave my lips. IT'S. TOO. HOT. For the past week and a half London has been experiencing a heat wave or as I refer to it "hell deciding earth will be its new residence". It's so shocking because I love summer and live for the heat! However, this week I hd to draw a line, last Wednesday was 36 degrees, now that in combination with a headache and room with no breeze made for one very unhappy Lisa. That being said I'm one for second chances, so I'm pretty sure we'll get over this.

To tackle summer (she can be a cruel mistress) I lived on one main thing, mango slushies! It's quick and simple to make because it has one ingredient; mangos! Yes, that's it. I'm a fan of keeping things simple and healthy and this ticks both boxes.  They make great treats any event, whether you're having a BBQ or in the garden working on the tan lines. It's a great alternative for fizzy drinks.

What are your summer fighting techniques?
Are you a head in the fridge find of girl or is sunscreen your war paint?

DIY Travel Pouch

It's holiday season ladies, to those who have their perfect destination booked woop woop and to those who are not traveling, stay strong! Better days are coming! This year I'll be going on a family cruise around the Mediterranean and it's safe to say I'm excited. For me the holiday begins the moment I start planning what to pack.

When it comes to the day of departure I like to keep all my information at hand. Having a document holder means your not that 'annoying' person holding up the line by frantically searching for your boarding pass (alas, that was me before I saw the light). It gives you time to focus on the more important things, like shopping and laughing at your friends whilst they're the annoying people holding up the line. That being said you may want to share the love (this post) with your friends. Making a document holder is simple and extremely worthwhile! Use for holidays or mini breaks. Whenever you need to be organised and in style!

Are you going anywhere this summer?
Let me know what your doing to get ready!

DIY Soap Crystals

Welcome to the world of Lisa, a place of mystical treats and crafts galore OR how it can also be put; awesome crafts and an idle girl. Now, Friday has arrived and I am more than grateful! Creatively, this has not been my week. Sometimes the more you push things, the more it pushes back. That being said, I decided to just step back and my patience was rewarded with this beauty. Folks, I present soap crystals.

Now soap is one of those things you can never go wrong with. Everyone's gotta use soap (well you should) and making this is so simple. They make great presents, favours and can add to your room deco if put on display.

Give it a try!

DIY Neon Sign

There's something inherently cool about neon signs and I have wanted one for ages. I came dangerously close to paying £60+ for one online not too long ago but I was strong. Who says patience isn't rewarded? The beauty of this is that it only cost £10 for all the materials! They can be easily sourced on Amazon. I created this DIY with a plastic backing but I'm itching to do it with a wood panel, imagine the glow (drool). Expect an updated sign in the near future.

This DIY allows you to put your own personal stamp on your home decor. Creating the sign is simple but fiddley at times. The final product, however, is well worth effort. My sign has found a snug little home in my bookcase between Freud and Jamie Oliver. Home accessories can cost a bomb so why not do it yourself.

Give it a go!

DIY Sprayed Coasters

Recently I have developed a love for party decorations and table laying. My Pinterest account is not helping this addiction; at this stage I think I can safely call it that.

Two things I've learnt through my exploration
1. You need an eye catching, awe inspiring focal point.
2. The little changes make a big difference.

This DIY is one of the little changes you can make to add to the overall feel of your decor. Whether it's a party or your just looking to add some colour to your dining table; this is perfect. As well as all of that, it was also one of my favourite things *drum roll please*… Cheap to make! YAY! Trust me creating the ever allusive hand crafted party is amazing but it can be unkind to your purse. So give it a try, it's 5mins of crafting you won't forget.

What's your thrifty crafting tips! Comment below; I'd love to know!

DIY Lego Crayons

My craft collection is vast, vast and old. I've had a strong love for all things crafty since I was a child and thus I have a few things that don't get a lot of love. I was conducting a clear out the other day (it was much needed) and stumbled across a box of crayons. Now I won't lie to you, crayons haven't been on my top 10 list for a while. However, anything can be reused/re-loved and this is a perfect way to give your old used crayons a new lease of life. Plus they're cute right!

They're quick and easy to make.
If your looking for original party favours, kids stationary, adults stationary, anything you want.
Give this a go!

What you'll need
Cupcake Holders
Shape Mould

What to do
1. Chop crayons into pieces and place in cupcake holders.
2. Heat oven to 160c and put in pots.
3. Leave to melt for 10mins, regularly check as melting time may vary.
4. Pour melted crayon into mould and leave to cool
...and your done!

This tutorial is quick, easy and fun to use.
All you need to do is find a fun ice cube mould and gather up your old crayon pieces.

The lego mould I used can be found here

Happy colouring!

Current Desires

It's Sunday, the sun's out and I'm in a good mood!
I've chosen to be positive and thus the runny nose and sore throat I'm experiencing have been pushed to the side. As well as positivity, I have found another method to help lift my spirits (and lower my bank balance): online shopping! Yay! Recently, I've stumbled across some gems. Much like most things I like, I thought I'd share it with you. Just look at that cat! I should rename it "Current Needs".

What's your go to pick me up and
what have you fallen in love with this week?

DIY Wire Bracelet/Arm Cuff

I've started learning Spanish this week and as you can see my skills are awe-inspiring.
The summer months are approaching which means FESTIVALS, SUN and FRIENDS. I can feel the rays already! My search has thus begun for my preferred festival. It's currently between Wireless, Reading and Wildlife. As well as planning music outings I often conduct a wardrobe audit. I'll usually come up with themes for my seasonal dress sense. This summer is Boho hippy meets Parisian chic. (Is this weird? Please tell me I'm not the only one!)

To accompany the desired look this season, I've made this bracelet/arm cuff.

This DIY is extremely quick.
It's a cheap way to personalise your look. You can complete it with a heart, star, name or anything you want. It's so simple to make. Plus no one else will be wearing it! Result! The masses of girls at festivals wearing the same outfit is ridiculous. Us crafty types have a duty to show the world that originality is the route to true happiness. But I don't need to tell you that. You crafty thing you!

What you'll need
Jewellery wire
3-in-1 pliers

How to
1. Draw out a pattern/writing on a piece of paper to help.
2. Bend wire into desired shape.
You're done!

Are you going to any festivals this year? I've started planning my outfit options already (I need help).

Oh, I nearly forgot!
To keep up with my weekly craft project's sign up to the mailing list.
It's over there in the side bar. Yup, right there!
